About

A room where business happens

USC produces world-class entrepreneurial and technical talent — but lacks a strong Bay Area identity. Stanford and Cal dominate the narrative here. Troy Collective changes that.

We convene the most engaged, innovation-oriented segment of the Trojan network. The result: a room where people share common values, similar ambitions, and a meaningful sense of alignment — leading to unusually high-quality interactions.

Curated, Not Crowded

Quality over quantity. Every gathering is intentional — designed for meaningful connection, not mass attendance. We start narrow and grow through referrals.

Rooted in USC, Open to All

Our foundation is the Trojan network, but our events welcome anyone building in tech. The best ideas don't check for alma maters.

Consistency Compounds

We believe in showing up. A regular cadence of events builds the depth of relationship that turns contacts into collaborators.

How It Started

Two Trojans, one missing piece

Miles and Kevin kept crossing paths at USC alumni gatherings around the Bay — happy hours, watch parties, the usual rotation. They were fine, but something was missing. The conversations stayed surface-level, the format rarely changed, and the people actually building things in tech seldom came back.

They wanted something with more intention. A consistent, curated community where every event is designed so you meet someone new, learn something worth remembering, and leave with more than a LinkedIn connection. Not a networking group — a room with purpose.

The Trojan network provided the foundation. The Bay Area tech ecosystem provided the context. So they got together and did a thing. That's how Troy Collective was born.

FAQ

Common questions

Is Troy Collective a business?

No. Troy Collective is a community initiative, not a company. We don't profit from events. Partners and sponsors in the ecosystem help us cover costs so we can create experiences worth showing up for.

Who can attend?

Our foundation is the USC alumni network, but events are open to anyone building in tech. Great people know great people — that's how the community grows.

What are the community guidelines?

Be generous with your time and attention. Give speakers your full presence. What's shared at events stays at events. And the one rule that covers everything else: don't be an asshole.
